~7,300 miles in 20 days, and not a sore back to show for it
“One thing I know with absolute certainty is that Ullman seats made this entire trip possible.
I knew Ullman seats from boats I had sold in the past, but I had never spent more than half a day in them. What I hadn’t experienced, and now fully understand, is how remarkable they are over the long haul.
Our first day on the water was fairly rough. After a six-hour run to our first fuel stop, I stepped off the boat with zero fatigue or body soreness. I thought, ‘This is amazing. Let’s push a little harder and see what we can do.’ From then on, we pushed harder each day.
By the time we reached Maine, we had seen plenty of short, choppy head seas, and we understood what the boat, and the crew, could handle. From there we set off around Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and up the St. Lawrence River to the Great Lakes: a long slog with fewer fuel stops, pressing hard for days on end. The seats gave us the endurance to complete the entire journey.
Back home, I spent a day replacing flooring and was more sore than I was after ~7,300 miles over 20 days, 18 hours and 38 minutes on the water. I felt like I could do cartwheels after our boat runs.
They have truly changed my life for the better. I’m now part of a startup building 3D-printed boats, and I want Ullman seats in our future builds.”

Crew Member, The Great Loop Challenge 2.0 (Dark 30 boat)
The challenge has raised approximately $600,000 for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.
On board: Ullman Daytona Crew
Dark 30 is fitted with Ullman Daytona Crew seats, built for crews who spend full days at speed. Armrests with integrated pistol grips give the crew a firm hold and steady support in rough seas, reducing the strain of constantly bracing against the boat’s movement. Over nearly 21 days of demanding running, that support helped keep the crew sharp from the first fuel stop to the last.
